Flights from Riga International Airport to be Commenced by UTair Aviation

Air carrier UTair Aviation will operate once-daily flights between Riga and Moscow starting from 17 August. Departure from Riga at 06:15 (arrival in Moscow at 09:00) and departure from Moscow at 21:10 (arrival in Riga at 21:50).

Flight duration – one hour and forty minutes. Air carrier UTair will use CRJ –type aircraft on this route. Up to now, regular flights between Riga and Moscow (Sheremetyevo) have been operated by air carrier airBaltic and Russian airline Aeroflot. Starting from 17 August, there will be four flights between Riga and Moscow every day.

The continuously widening flight network offers 81 direct-flight destinations from Riga International Airport in the summer season this year. The UTair flights to Riga open wide and convenient connections to further flights within Russia. Vnukovo Airport is UTair’s base airport from which the air carrier operates more than 100 flights to 60 destinations in Russia and other states every day.

In 2009, UTair carried 3.8 million passengers and is currently one of the five largest airlines in Russia as well as the largest helicopter company in the state. UTair is the leading domestic passenger airline in Russia.

UTair’s fleet consists of 176 aircraft, of which 16 Boeing 737-500, two Boeing 757-200, 17 ATR-type aircraft, five CRJ-type aircraft. Other UTair aircraft include TU-154, TU-134, and the AN-type aircraft used for Russian domestic flights.
