New engineering center to create 105 jobs equivalent to $4 million in annual payroll

SAN JUAN, PR—PRIDCO announced today that Honeywell Aerospace, a leading global provider of integrated avionics, engines, systems and service solutions for the aviation and aerospace industries will establish operations this year at the Guanajibo Industrial Park in Mayagüez.

The company is expected to hire Information Technology, engineering and customer support employees for positions ranging from entry-level to professional.

The announcement that Honeywell Aerospace will open operations in Puerto Rico was made by the Hon. Aníbal Acevedo-Vilá, Governor of Puerto Rico at the Puerto Rico Industrial Development Company’s (PRIDCO) headquarters in Hato Rey. Honeywell Aerospace’s arrival in Puerto Rico is the combined result of PRIDCO’s promotional and business development efforts, the strength of local engineering and technology university programs, and the proven success of aerospace companies that have operations on the island, such as Infotech Aerospace Services.

“We are pleased that Honeywell Aerospace is locating in Puerto Rico, as our operations here will help us meet global business goals,” said Paul D. Hopkins, Vice President and Chief Information Officer for Honeywell Aerospace. Honeywell Aerospace will rent 12,000 square feet from PRIDCO’s industrial facilities in Mayagüez.

“We are extremely pleased by Honeywell’s decision to establish operations in Puerto Rico as it enables us to further develop a knowledge based economy that results in higher paying jobs and retains some of our best minds. We are honored that Honeywell has recognized the talent and value of making business with Puerto Rico,” Boris Jaskille, PRIDCO’s Executive Director, said.
